We also offer a range of luxury and everyday treats and snacks and of course those all-important marshmallows to enjoy toasting on your campfire. We stock a great range of ice creams including Thaymar Real Luxury Ice Cream treat-size tubs, with lots of delicious flavours on offer. We have a small selection of outdoor toys to keep your children entertained and sell a range of greeting cards designed and created by Mary Hart, our resident textile artist. Also available are AA batteries, ground pegs and airbed repair kits for your camping emergencies. |

Wi-fiAt Brook Meadow, we offer complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi so you can easily stream music, catch up on films, or even work from home – at the same time as watching your fishing rod! To ensure everyone has a great online experience, especially during busy weekends or in challenging weather, we kindly ask that you limit the number of devices connected simultaneously and ensure your device has a clear view of our Wi-Fi repeaters for the best signal.

THE OLD Fishing Lodge
This facility is for everyone to use. You may use the oven and microwave; make tea and toast and rustle up something quick for the children; you can store your ice packs in the freezer and use the fridge, but please clear up and be mindful of others needing the facilities too. Our Fishing Lodge offers 2 additional newly refurbished unisex family washrooms, a utility area which includes a pay-as-you-go washing machine and tumble dryer. A power socket to blow up your air bed or charge your devices. Inside there is also a small dining area and community library should you fancy borrowing a book or leaving one behind. The kitchen is fitted with a wheelchair-accessible 90cm high sink, kettle, toaster, microwave, fridges, freezer, an induction hob and oven. Outside you'll find a beautiful new deck with an elevated view of the lake and on calm weather days you can sit under the shade of our beautiful parasols.
'moovie' night in the cowshed
Enjoy our charming open-air cinema in the cowshed. Screening your favourite family 'moovies' on a large cinema screen with a straw bale auditorium that your children will remember. For timings of shows follow us on Facebook or ask in the office. Saturday film shows are free of charge and exclusive to our guests. Ice creams are available before the show from reception. During the school summer holidays we have Tuesday pizza and cinema nights open to our local villagers with ticket proceeds to local charities. Film nights begin once the cattle in the maternity ward vacate and go out to grass (early May).

We also offer two accessible wet rooms: one within the new women's washrooms and another in our unisex accessible facility. If you require access to the unisex wet room, just pop by reception and we’ll be happy to provide a radar key.

NAtural PLay
We believe some of the best childhood adventures happen outdoors, so we have been creating natural places where children can explore, invent games and let their imaginations run wild. Jasper has built little play structures, including a teepee and Wendy house, and we have cleared the centres of our small spinneys to create secret dens and hideaways. One has even been taken over by a tiny community of fairies.
Three large fallen trees have been carefully positioned for children to clamber and balance along, testing their agility while imagining them as anything from spaceships to sea monsters. There are three grassy spiral mounds to race around and meet at the top, as well as rope swings and slacklines beneath the tree canopies beside the lake.
The grounds and lake provide plenty more opportunities for exploring nature, including pond dipping and scavenger hunts. During the school summer holidays we add some wonderfully old-fashioned fun too. Our Brook Meadow Dog Shows are always a favourite, with light-hearted classes designed so that every pup has the chance to be a winner. Children also love our cow barn cinema and our campfire singalongs, gathering together around the fire for songs as the evening draws in. We continue to develop our natural play areas, always trying to keep them simple, imaginative and connected to the countryside. At Brook Meadow, we want children to have the freedom to make their own adventures, get a little grubby, discover nature and enjoy the sort of outdoor childhood fun that makes a holiday memorable.
