THE OLD Fishing Lodge
This facility is for everyone to use. You may use the oven and microwave; make tea and toast and rustle up something quick for the children; you can store your icepacks in the freezer and use the fridge, but please clear up and be mindful of others needing the facilities too. Our Fishing Lodge offers 2 additional family washrooms, a utility area which includes a pay-as-you-go washing machine and tumble dryer. A hairdryer is also available and power socket to blow up your air bed or charge your devices. There is also a small dining area and community library should you fancy borrowing a book or leaving one behind. The kitchen is fitted with a wheelchair-accessible 90cm high sink, kettle, toaster, microwave, fridges, freezer, an induction hob and oven.
'moovie' night in the cowshed
Enjoy our charming open-air cinema in the cowshed. Screening your favourite family 'moovies' on a large cinema screen with a straw bale auditorium that your children will remember. For timings of shows follow us on Facebook or ask in the office. Saturday film shows are free of charge and exclusive to our guests. Ice creams are available before the show from reception. During the school summer holidays we have Tuesday pizza and cinema nights open to our local villagers with ticket proceeds to local charities. Film nights begin once the cattle in the maternity ward vacate and go out to grass (early May).
WASHROOM FACILITIES
We take huge pride in our washroom provision to offer our guests clean and tidy facilities. We have two accessible wet rooms within the shower block, (one int he new women's washrooms and the unisex accessible washroom). Please ask reception for a key if you require the unisex facility.
Our new luxury women's facilities have family-friendly all in one washrooms and a female accessible washroom all designed with a hotel quality and finish so you'll feel pampered as can be. The high spec interior designed by Claire has the same attention to detail she would lavish on our glamping and lodges.
Additional washroom facilities are found in our fishing lodge. One of our family washrooms here has been overhauled and the second one is due to be refurbished to the same standard over the coming winter 24-25. It won't be long now until our Men's washrooms are overhauled too. The washrooms are the last piece in the jigsaw to elevate the camping and glamping experience at Brook Meadow to a luxury level.

A dedicated area for you to wash your pots and pans, with overhead cover.
Play areas
We believe in the benefits of nature play and we have been busy building on our nature spaces for children. Jasper has been creating some mini play structures, a tepee and a wendy house. We've cleared the insides of our spinny areas so children can have a secret base, we have installed 2 large fallen trees to play on so they can test their agility and imagine the trees into spaceships or sea monsters. We have three grassy spiral mounds for children to run around to the top and meet on, and there's a rope swing by the lake.
You will also be in a great spot for exploring nature with pond dipping and scavenger hunts. We will continue to build on what we are doing with children's play spaces and in the future you can expect more from us in this area.

For some old-fashioned family fun, we have garden games you can hire from reception at £5 for a half day; crocquet, giant jenga and skittles.
