"I've been coming to Brook Meadow for many years and that's what's special about the place, it makes you want to come back. It's just so lovely to watch the fish jumping in the lake and the swallows courting in the spring. The peace and tranquility along with the friendliness of the staff mean I always look forward to my next stay!''  Tania Brown
''Four families get together over the Bank holiday weekend. Meadow fields give large open space for the kids to enjoy without worrying too much about them and the neighbours. Lake for fishing and walks. Well placed for local activities and visits.''

''We stayed for 2 nights as part of a large group of families. The welcome on reception was friendly and informative and the camping field was extremely large, flat, really well maintained, with grass banking that acted as a natural windbreak. The grass was short enough to play lots of ball games and the toilets and showers were very clean. There is a nice fishing lake to walk around and overall a great time was had by all despite the unseasonably cold weather. Will definitely stay for the weekend again.''
''We stayed here mid week for 2 nights with my husband and 3 year old camping writet next to the lake pitch 13. We loved it and plenty of grass for little girl to play on. Toilets etc... were spotless the best I have seen on a camp site. The owner was lovely and very help full. My husband went fishing on the lake the next day; from 5am- 5pm he only caught 2 fish 3 if you count the one I caught.''

''Lovely friendly campsite. Pick your own pitch which was great. Lovely clean facilities. Will definitely be going back. Lovely fishing lake too. Great for everyone and lots to do in the area- next to the gliding club. Really great price per night as well.''
''Perfect cool camping site in the middle of Leicestershire nice location and great place for couple of days under stars if your looking for somewhere to stick BBQ on light a fire in a fire Pitt crack open a cold beer or glass of wine while kids explore the field and fishing lake your'll love it.''

''We fancied a change so I did an internet search and Brook Meadow came up. looked OK and facilities sounded good so booked for a Friday and Saturday night. Arrived at 6.30pm, very nice lady and her little boy on reception, gave me a map to the pitch and outlined the facilities and features of the site. Drove to the pitch with electric hook-up, it was massive and enclosed on two sides by a nice hedge. After the tent was up, dinner cooked, eaten and washed up we went to explore the site. There was lots of space, it wasn't crowed, children could play freely and safely and the facilities were great. There is a fantastic lake where people were fishing and lots of wildlife. I would thoroughly recommend this site to both couples and families alike. We even tried our hand at fishing and managed to catch a couple of whoppers! Great site, great location, great people and booked again for September while we were there!''
Highly Recommended
We have just returned from Brook Meadow and were more than pleasantly surprised when we pitched up at the lake, in beautiful site in wonderful country setting and glorious weather to top it off.  We could honestly not complain about a thing, a nice welcome, relaxed approach to where we could camp and a trusting nature to 'let me know if/how much you fish' was really what we had come away for.  The landscape is really spectacular with wildlife all around and there is nothing quite like sitting by the lake at sunset, drinking a few beverages, watching fish jump, swallows circle and the odd kingfisher making an appearance just to top it off.  The showering facilities were the best we have ever experienced - even in other European countries with spotless and well thought of amenities to make our stay enjoyable. We would definitely recommend staying here and with the adventure locals and lovely Market Harborough nearby, you can relax or be as active as you wish.

Fantastic! Everything about the site was great:
Levelled pitches
Free, very clean and good showers and toilets
Little shop on site with some essentials and their own farm eggs
Friendly, non intrusive owners
Fire pit to hire and wood to buy
Gliding place nearby so you can constantly see gliders in the sky - beautiful
This is a superb campsite. Beautiful lake for a walk around. The gliding school was fantastic to watch. The grandchildren were mesmerized . it has a real family feel to it. I found the showers and toilets very clean. I will be going back

The pirates camp was perfect for our group of three tents. We took up all the space in that area. It gave us lots of space and privacy. It’s perfect if you are a group with a number of tents. Very enjoyable experience and the weather was amazing Jun 3, 2019 by Toni
Great lakeside location with great facilities
Off-lead woodland walks for the dog from the lake. Fire pits and disposable BBQs available in the shop (plus bacon, sausages etc if you're caught short on supplies). Will definitely return. Lovely mix of families, couples and fishermen so no one group dominates.

''Very pleased with our weekend stay in our own tent with no electric hookup. The site is clean with good facilities for such a low price and a very relaxed attitude towards campfires and bbqs - as such people respect the 'bring your own fire pit' rule. There is very occasional evidence of someone who lit a ground fire but given how busy it is everyone seemed to respect the rules.

Site: We called an hour before worrying it would have sold out but although it was busy we still got an idyllic spot next to the lake with a small copse to our rear and other campers on either side. Plenty of space.

Facilities: There is a shop on sight but the facilities are really good for such a small site. Several showers and purpose built toilet block in good condition - each individual rooms with sink. Similarly there are washbasins and ironing boards if needed, alongside large industrial bins for your rubbish.

Fishing: Although we weren't fishing we saw lots of people having a great time and landing what was (to our untrained eyes) very large catches!

A lovely stay - slightly marred by a large group who had screaming (and we mean screaming!) children at 5am and some incredibly loud snoring - luckily the screaming child woke the snorer! But can't fault the site for this!''
Review from 14 Aug 2020
friendly chilled out site- highly recommended
We have just returned from a few days stay and would not hesitate to recommend this site.
It is laid back and relaxing; based on our stay it seems to attract a nice mix of people who are friendly and like minded.
Our 7 year old son spent time climbing trees, playing on the rope swing and running around playing football and other outdoor games throughout the day and into the night. We felt safe there to give him more freedom than we normally would. It’s the kind of break that gets your kids away from their screens and connects them with the outdoors.
You can hear green woodpeckers by day and owls by night with buzzards and gliders overhead through the day. I only wish I had taken my binoculars.
Mary from the site took my son to collect eggs and patiently spent time explaining all about caring for chickens. He loved it.
Rob was on hand to help out and guide if you required advice; all done in a genuine friendly manner.
The outdoor cinema for the kids was a lovely touch too.
The toilets and showers were cleaned every day and generally kept to a high standard;everyone seemed to be observant of the rules.
We will definitely return.
I cannot praise the site highly enough.
I only hope it’s much deserved success does not mean it loses its charm and friendly manner.
