Lodge Reviews
Brook Meadow is proud of their history and their heritage and you can see this throughout the farm, from the kind gestures they leave in the lodges (they left us amazing lemon cake), to the friendly check-in process, Brook Meadow is iconic and is leading the way with relaxing and simple luxury in the British countryside. The site hosts three multi-award winning self catering lodges with breathtaking views of the lake!
Our home for the weekend, Woodpecker, was the perfect retreat for our family to relax, unwind and immerse ourselves in nature. Our lodge was a large building, with light wooden chalet-theme on the exterior, but the interior was completely unexpected, with fresh, bright rooms, stylish furnishings and everything you could need for a weekend lake-side stay. The bedrooms have the most gorgeous high-quality mattresses with Egyptian cotton bedding and cosy velvet cushions, whilst the kitchen is well-equipped, with dining area and decking with doors that open to let the air in. The kitchen contains a fridge, oven and microwave and dishwasher.
In the lounge there is a flat screen TV, DAB radio and free WiFi, as well as gorgeous suede green sofa, with the most amazing wallpaper following through the woodpecker theme. The lodge had its own driveway and you can park directly outside your lodge.
We absolutely loved our weekend retreat at Brook Meadow and can’t recommend this place enough. We all felt incredibly relaxed after we departed on the Sunday after 48 hours of immersing ourselves in to the nature, fresh air and family time.

''We have stayed at Brook Meadow numerous times and have never been disappointed, it's always very clean and tidy, every time we have had any sort of special request they have always been accommodating, any issues are dealt with very quickly and efficiently, we have recently visited and they have had a bit of a revamp since our last visit, and can I just say WOW! love what you have done with the place, the lodge really does look lovely, the decor has been modernised brilliantly since our very first visit, during our stay we really admired the big round birds of paradise cushions in the living room, which we loved so much we really had to ask where they were from, to which Claire was only too willing to tell us, just really hope I can get one, and would really like to say well done all the team at Brook Meadow for once again making our stay a very pleasant and enjoyable one.'' ''We spent 3 nights in the Kingfisher lodge. The lodge is a good size for 4 people. The bedrooms are a good size. The open plan makes the living area spacious. The view over the lake was lovely. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t that good, but it didn’t stop us. Not too far from Market Harborough; about 7 miles.
I emailed them to see what time we could get in, as the lodge was already empty we were able to have the key at 9.30 which was great as we left really early to miss Bank Holiday traffic. I would recommend stopping here.'' |
''Lovely long weekend
We have just had 3 days here and wow it’s lovely. We booked a Glamping tent for our daughter and husband and a lodge for us and our granddaughters. The Glamping tent was stunning and very special. The lodge was perfect with everything you could want; fluffy towels, beautiful bedding and the team look after you a treat.'' Thank you, Edwina |
'Such a beautiful venue and the lodges are to a high standard. Very relaxing place to be after the pressure and stress of work. Central to a number of attractions! If you love fishing then there is a well-stocked lake! All in all a great place to stay. We will definitely be back ''

''I stayed for four nights in Woodpecker Lodge which is new. It was very hot when I was there and having all the greenery and the lake was a great relief from being in the hot polluted air of town. Lovely birds and other wildlife. Very nice staff and you can buy fresh free range eggs in the shop and delicious ice cream!'' Ann Whatmore

''My Daughter and I spent 3 nights at the Kingfisher Lodge at Christmas. It was lovely, cosy, warm and clean and decorated too for Christmas. Most importantly were very comfortable beds, plush bedroom carpets and a superb power shower. Thank you Brook Meadow, we'll be back. ''

Love this site, always clean with a beautiful lake that the sun sets over, the staff are wonderful, professional and very friendly. I love that you can hire fire pits and toast marshmallows as the sun goes down. The toilets are clean and tidy and the wash-up area is one of the nicest I've seen. The lodges are stunning and decorated to an extremely high tasteful standard, all with views over the lake perfect for a relaxing get away and great value too. Mathew Woodward
