Frequently Asked Camping Questions
What time can I check in from? Check in time for camping and caravanning is from 12.00 noon on the day of arrival. What is the check out time? Check out time for camping is by 11.30am on the day of departure. Can I have early / late check in / out with my pitch? You can pay a fee for a 5pm late check out, if your pitch has not already been booked by another guest. Normally, it will be fine for non-electric pitches (and a late check out option for non-electric pitches can be selected upon booking online), but electric hook-up pitches are more likely to be booked by another guest. Please check with Reception. You are not able to arrive earlier than the check in time of 12 noon; this is to allow other guests enough time to vacate their pitches. Why do I have to pay a security deposit just for camping? The security deposit (or ‘behaviour bond’) has been put in place to ensure that all guests follow our site rules and expectations (the contract document is available on our website.) A copy is also available on request, and site rules are supplied with the map on arrival). This is to ensure the enjoyment of our peaceful, family orientated campsite for all guests staying at Brook Meadow. Does the £50 behaviour bond (security deposit) come out of my bank account and when will it be refunded? If you authorise your payment card when requested via email before your stay at Brook Meadow, the money is ‘held’ by your bank 18 hours prior to arrival, and then automatically released 48 hours from midnight on your day of departure (individual bank processing times will vary). If you were unable to authorise your payment card for any reason before your arrival, then we will take this payment on your arrival day on our cash register and refund it on your departure day. It can take several days for your bank to process this refund, so we always recommend you authorise your card online before you arrive where possible. |
Do you have fully serviced pitches?
Unfortunately, we do not have the services in place to provide serviced pitches. Where can I fill up my motorhome? There are many water points on the site, all clearly indicated on the site map provided on arrival. There is an additional tap near Reception – please ask at Reception for location. Where can I dispose of my grey waste? There is a new grey waste drain located by the newly refurbished women's washrooms. How far to the nearest pub? There are several local pubs in the area. The nearest is the Red Lion in Sibbertoft village, approx. 1 mile away. If walking, The Red Lion can only be reached walking along the road side. The Wharf at Welford is approx. 2½ miles away and can be walked to via the Jurassic Way footpath or main roads. Can I host a party in Marabou glamping canvas lodge or any of the lodges? No, unfortunately. The pricing for our accommodation is based on the number of guests staying. Can I put a marquee up in the camping field to host a birthday party? Possibly, depending on the time of year. The party hosts must be staying at Brook Meadow and all attendees must be paying guests of one kind or another. There will be a charge for any day visitors as well as the cost of the space taken by the marquee. The site rules on behaviour will still apply to all guests attending and deposits treated as a group. Can I hold a celebration/party on site for all my friends and family? Yes you can. There are two options: 1) all attendees are staying as Brook Meadow guests with a maximum of 30 paying day visitors and abide by our site rules. Any additional marquee would be chargeable. 2) hire the entire site and accommodation and you will be able to party until midnight. See the exclusive use site hire page for more information. |

Yes, provided the ground is not too wet and soft, then you can book a grass electric or non electric pitch for your caravan or motorhome. At Brook Meadow we have a main camping field with different areas you can pitch your tent plus lakeside camping in designated areas. These pitches are not numbered which allows campers to pitch where you like (within the designated areas shown on our site map) and is especially useful for family group camping and creating your own private space - see site map How can I make amendments to my booking? If you need to make any alterations to your booking, please email [email protected] or telephone 01858 880886 with the changes you require. Any changes in cost will be advised. |
