It makes sense now that travel is so cheap and you have to fit it in around the school holidays. Brook Meadow welcomes campers for mini breaks to enjoy our 400 acre stretch of land with beautiful walks and a 4 acre coarse fishing lake. Pulling the children away from mobile phones, tablets, game consoles, high streets and showing them the true beauty of the world can be challenging. It is so refreshing for us every year to see so many children distracted from the online world by running, playing football, learning to fish and enjoying the beautiful natural world. Our organic play area is going to be even more an educational play time for your children when they are learning to scramble, climb, run, leap, squeeze, hide and jump tackling the multi-sensory learning. Plus, it will tire them out for a good nights sleep. And let us not forget the parents, the travel trends are saying you are looking for mindful breaks in 2019. More than ever parents are feeling the hindrance of technology with every email, text, phone call at your finger tips. There's no escaping a busy life and a judged life as well. Likes, Loves, Ha Has and Sad emojis begin to rule our everyday acceptance of the lives we lead but we're over it now. There's no better break than heading to Brook Meadow to appreciate the views, the tranquillity, the humble nearby villages, the beautiful walks, the natural wild life and simplicity of cooking over a camp fire. There is Wi-Fi over Brook Meadow's campsite so you aren't completely cut off from the online world but you'll find yourself researching types of birds and local hikes rather than replying to emails. Perhaps family camping isn't your idea of a mindful holiday and you like a little more glamour and luxury thrown in to your holiday. We can also cater for you with our luxury lake side award winning lodges. These get booked up super quick so be sure to secure your dates with us as soon as possible.

Christmas and New Year have passed so we're all thinking about our upcoming holidays.Travel is rapidly changing and it's not unusual for a family to take 3 or 4 holidays a year. The general trend is that travel is good for your mental wellbeing so little and often is a great self-care technique. In the summer Brook Meadow is buzzing with happy families taking a mini UK break before a short out-of-season European holiday. When such stunning scenery, country walks and tranquil lakes are available in the UK, you guys are making the most of the UK holidays to save money and still have fantastic experiences. Our award winning campsite, in our opinion, is a must-visit destination of 2019 if you're looking for an affordable family holiday. Getting the children back in touch with nature with our upcoming organic play area and teaching them traditional skills like fishing are just a couple of the reasons why Brook Meadow should be one of your 2019 bite-size travel destinations. If you're looking for an extra special get-away for one of your children's birthday parties then book a Pirate Party. The pirate and mermaid themed area in a ring of trees can be hired for exclusive use to cater for children's camping parties. Educational holidays are all the rage in 2019 and understandably so. Now the children get bogged down with spelling tests and homework without any school leave for holiday when do they fit in learning how to climb a tree, cook beans outside, see new cultures and develop social skills through play. It has to be done in their holiday times, if you can drag them away from the Xbox and the best way to do this is to take them on a short break. Whatever degree of comforts you need, whether you're a rugged pop-up tenter, a luxury glamper or a home-comforts caravanner we have the space for you all including clean toilet and shower blocks, electric hook-up pitches and a well stocked retail shop with brand new healthier options as well as all the naughty treats! We have fishing bait available if you would like to teach your children how to fish. And don't forget the amazing activities on the doorstep of Brook Meadow from gliding experiences to off-road quad biking! Our campsite gets chockablock so it is essential you book your affordable family holiday as soon as possible. Email [email protected] or call 01858 880886. Happy New Year from all of us at Brook Meadow! We hope you celebrate the end of 2018 and welcome 2019 in with a glass of fizz, we certainly will be! We are motivated and ready to get going on the 2019 Brook Meadow year and we have big plans in the pipeline. Our primary goal is to please the guests so we listen to your reviews and desires and do our best to deliver. In 2019 we will be cutting down amount of pitches sold so every guest has a little bit more area for play, less of a wait for a shower and more space for trees and planting. We feel it is important for each guest to feel free at Brook Meadow and in the height of season with up to 500 guests historically on site at one time we understand it could get a little crowded. With fewer spaces moving forward it means book early to secure your holiday. We have a beautiful organic playground in the works using items from nature to create a safe and educational play zone for children. We love the idea of 'natural play' and we are working towards Brook Meadow being a great place for children to come away from the computer games and find enjoyment through the environment without prescriptive play equipment we hope they will invent their own games. Expect to see more mounds and fallen trees in the main camping field. We strongly believe in conserving nature and wildlife so we look for organic solutions in as many areas as possible and we will be increasing areas with long grasses and wildflowers to create secluded zones within the camping field and encourage flora and fauna. The play area will remain central but become a much more exciting feature. Brook Meadow is naturally a place where offline enjoyment happens from fishing, long walks, reading books, cooking over a campfire to family card games but we understand how important it is for us to be connected the online world. We know our guests want to snap photos and tag @brookmeadow on instagram and email their friends or whatsapp their boss. We are improving our WiFi now so you can still be connected to the online world while on a rural holiday. We have plenty more ideas in the pipe line that will be revealed over 2019 so keep up to date with us by giving us a like on Facebook and a follow on Instagram! Please do leave a comment with any ideas you have for the development of Brook Meadow. Happy New Year!We have truly been spoilt by Living In The Shires and their kind words. Not only have we received the Tried and Tested Award of Excellence but we now have a double page spread in their latest magazine. 'It's worthy not only because of the wonderful setting but also because the lodges themselves and the designer delights within' Over the past year we have completed an overhaul of Brook Meadow’s accommodation facilities and grounds to offer guests a new and exciting holiday experience. The two original lodges have been refurbished and a third lodge has been added, all of which now boast a high-end English botanical design linking with the peaceful setting and lake views. The tranquillity of these lodges are hard to beat and we have investigated why being next to water is so mindful. Read here. We were absolutely delighted when Living In The Shires noticed the effort and creativity that has gone into the interior design of our Lodges. In everything we do we try to make ourselves stand out from the crowd and offer that little extra piece of luxury through design.
